At the top of the drive portfolio is a new 4.4-liter V8 gasoline engine for the top model BMW X7 M60i xDrive, derived from the engines of the high-performance models of BMW M GmbH. M TwinPower Turbo technology and a cross-cylinder bank exhaust manifold help the 390 kW/530 hp engine, whose maximum torque is 750 Nm, to deliver impressively superior power. An inline six-cylinder engine of the latest generation makes its debut in the new BMW X7 xDrive40i. It features numerous innovations in the areas of combustion process, charge exchange, valve control, injection and ignition system, all of which increase both performance and efficiency. Compared to the predecessor model, the new powertrain generates a 35 kW/47 hp increase in maximum output to 280 kW/380 hp and a 70 Nm increase in maximum torque to 520 Nm, which can be boosted to up to 540 Nm by the additional power of the mild hybrid system.
