The majestic Palace of Versailles is set to become the centerpiece for equestrian excellence during the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This decision, given its illustrious history with horse riding, comes as no surprise. Renowned as the first of its kind in France, the riding complex at Versailles has a storied past, deeply intertwined with the tradition of horse riding. "The Palace of Versailles and the local council have been staunch supporters of horse riding for years," shares the director of the Equestrian Club of Versailles with AFP. Echoing this sentiment, the city's mayor emphasizes, "Hosting the Olympic equestrian events here is a poignant tribute, a means of reigniting the rich tapestry of horse riding history that permeates Versailles." As the Olympic spotlight turns towards Versailles, it signifies not just a sporting event but a symbolic reconnection with its prestigious equestrian heritage.
