Plane makes emergency landing after bird strike ignites engine in Colombia
An Avianca Airbus A320 was forced to make an emergency landing in Colombia after a bird strike caused one of its engines to catch fire shortly after takeoff. Flight AV4892 departed Popayán for Bogotá on November 10 but was forced to divert to Cali, landing safely 18 minutes later. Despite the dramatic scene on board, there were no reported injuries among passengers or crew.
