Canada has lost its measles elimination status, health officials say, a major setback caused by a year-long resurgence of the disease largely among unvaccinated groups. The director of PAHO, the UN's regional health office, announces that "the endemic transmission of measles has been re-established in Canada," as the "country shows a sustained transmission for more than 12 months."
