The world cannot avoid surpassing the 1.5 degree climate threshold but must strive to keep it short, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warns. "Our mission is simple –- but not easy: Make any overshoot as small and as short as possible," Guterres says as the United Nations releases its latest report on the drive to limit global warming to no more than 1.5 degrees centigrade above pre-industrial levels.
