80% of Americans, according to a recent survey by Talker Research, are increasingly concerned about the possibility of a Third World War. The survey, conducted among 1,000 US citizens evenly distributed among Republicans, Democrats, and voters of other parties, shows the growing fear of a global conflict. Notably, 84% of Republicans and 83% of non-voters share these concerns, while almost three-quarters of Democrats (74%) also believe that a new world war is imminent. The growing concern comes amid ongoing international conflicts, including Russia's invasion of Ukraine and escalating violence between Israel and Palestine. Interestingly, Americans are more worried about the situation in the Middle East (55%) than in Eastern Europe (28%). In particular, women are more concerned about the prospect of war than men: 85% of women express concern, compared to 71% of men. When it comes to leadership in such turbulent times, 50% of respondents believe that Donald Trump would be a better commander-in-chief than Kamala Harris (41%). As global tensions rise, Americans remain concerned about the role their country could play in the next global conflict, and many fear the consequences of US involvement in future wars.
