Start-up insolvencies at record levels

Source: WIRTSCHAFT TV (Glomex)

In the first half of the year, as many young companies in Germany went bankrupt as never before. A total of 160 start-ups filed for insolvency, as determined by the data service Startupdetector for the Handelsblatt. That was 14 percent more than in the first six months of the previous year and even 88 percent more than in the same period in 2022. According to this, the start-ups have financial problems due to the persistently high interest rates, the difficult economic situation in Germany, and the reluctance of many investors.
