Bas pushes for establishment of memorial for GDR victims

President of the Bundestag Bärbel Bas (SPD) lamented a lack of culture of remembrance at a ceremony in the Bundestag marking the 70th anniversary of the GDR uprising. "To this day, there is no central memorial site for the victims of the SED dictatorship," Bas said.
