With the bZ4X, Toyota not only launched its first all-electric vehicle in 2022, but the SUV also provided the company's blueprint for the future development of new, all-electric SUVs: an "EV DNA" of authentic all-wheel-drive performance, efficient powertrain, and the essential Toyota quality, durability, and reliability. Toyota has sold more than 150,000 units of the bZ4X since its market launch, making it the third most popular model in its segment in Europe. Meanwhile, Toyota has continuously worked on further improving all aspects of the bZ4X to enhance its performance, efficiency, comfort, and driving pleasure. The new bZ4X is therefore much more than just a mid-cycle refresh. The electric powertrain has been comprehensively improved; new batteries offer more power, faster charging, and greater range. The top-of-the-line bZ4X will also now feature a 22 kW onboard charger. In the future, two battery options will be offered, with capacities of 57.7 kWh or 73.1 kWh. Customers can thus choose a version that best suits their driving needs and budget. Toyota guarantees that the battery will retain at least 70 percent of its original capacity for up to 10 years or up to a mileage of 250,000 kilometers. The compact, lightweight, and energy-efficient e-axles with integrated electric motor, transmission, and inverter have also been improved. Specific internal energy losses have been reduced, contributing to further increases in performance and efficiency.
