Mariah Carey und Wham! brechen Weihnachts-Charts-Rekord
Mariah Carey and Wham! have broken the record for the earliest appearance of a Christmas song in the UK Singles Chart. As of mid-November, Wham!’s 'Last Christmas' re-entered the Official UK Singles Chart at No.37. At the same time, Mariah Carey’s 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' returned at No.40. According to the Official Charts Company, this sets a new record for the earliest appearance of a Christmas song on the charts. Carey released her holiday hit in 1994 and Wham! theirs in 1986 - both songs compete with each other to be the most-played song every year. In addition to this, with the Christmas spirit coming so early to the UK Charts this year, Gregory Porter’s 'Christmas Wish' debuted at No. 14.
