Mannheim: On Thursday evening at around 6:30 p.m., there was a traffic accident involving two vans on the Südtangente in the direction of Ludwigshafen. For reasons as yet unknown, the two vehicles collided at Landteilstraße. One of the two vans then drove over a traffic island, overturned onto its side and came to a standstill after about 70 meters. Both drivers were injured in the accident and were taken to nearby hospitals for further medical treatment. While the accident was being investigated, the B36 had to be fully closed in the direction of Ludwigshafen, causing considerable disruption. Both vehicles had to be towed away and the material damage is likely to be in the region of several 10,000 euros. The course of the accident is the subject of further investigations by the police.
