Paul McCartney doesn't expect Britain's Glastonbury Festival to go ahead next year due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Researchers from the University of Applied Sciences for Technology, Business and Culture Leipzig (HTWK) are currently investigating whether existing gas pipelines in Germany can also be used for the distribution of hydrogen. According to HTWK Professor Robert Huhn, initial results suggest that such use of the existing infrastructure is possible. The research, which has been ongoing since 2016, also includes the question of how hydrogen can be made safer by adding a suitable odorant to detect leaks and prevent uncontrolled leakage and possible explosions.
