The BMW Group Regensburg Plant today inaugurated a new body shop at the factory site 6.12 (Neutraubling) in the presence of Regensburg District Administrator Tanja Schweiger and Neutraubling Mayor Harald Stadler. Plant Manager Armin Ebner: "Our Regensburg products BMW X1 and BMW X2 are in high demand worldwide. In the new production hall in Neutraubling, we currently produce over 120 vehicle bodies per day - thus contributing to meeting the high market demand." Once completed, the bodies manufactured in Neutraubling are transported to the Regensburg vehicle plant, where they are assembled into finished automobiles around the clock in a three-shift operation. A new vehicle leaves the Regensburg assembly line every 57 seconds. Currently, this amounts to over 1,400 vehicles per working day. With an annual production of 342,521 automobiles, the Regensburg Plant was the highest-volume vehicle plant of the BMW Group in Europe in 2024. This was more than 100,000 vehicles above the 2023 annual production (238,301 automobiles). More than a third of the vehicles built in Regensburg in 2024 were electrified, either a plug-in hybrid or a fully electric model. "We manufacture our vehicles for the global market and contribute to the growth of electromobility," emphasized Ebner.

When defining the electrification strategy, it was clear from the outset that all essential components would be developed in Affalterbach. At the heart of this is the AMG High Performance Battery (HPB) for the upcoming performance hybrid models. Development of the lithium-ion energy storage system began in 2016 and was inspired by technologies that have proven themselves in the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team's Formula 1 hybrid racing cars under the toughest conditions. In the course of development, there was a lively exchange of expert knowledge between the High Performance Powertrains (HPP) Formula 1 engine forge in Brixworth and Mercedes-AMG in Affalterbach. The specifications were quickly defined: The AMG High Performance Battery combines high power that can be called up frequently in succession with low weight to increase the overall performance of the vehicle. Added to this are the fast energy absorption and the high power density. This means that, on a fast drive, for example in hilly terrain, the full power potential can be called up immediately uphill, while recuperation is strong when driving downhill.
The time has come: Volkswagen presents the new T-Roc! Developed completely from scratch, the second generation of the best seller boasts an expressive design and innovative drive systems. The high-quality interior features a newly designed cockpit, an infotainment screen measuring up to 33 centimetres (13 inch) and background lighting that creates a lounge-like atmosphere. In addition, the T-Roc offers more space in the interior and luggage compartment. New assist systems and technologies from higher vehicle classes complete the model. Examples include Travel Assist and the driving experience control. Pre-sales of the new T-Roc start in Germany on 28 August, with the market launch scheduled for November. Prices start at 30,845 euros for the 1.5 eTSI with 85 kW/115 PS.
