The substance is a thickener and stabilizer and is found in chocolate bars, red wine and also cola. The problem is that around 80 percent of the gum arabic used worldwide comes from Sudan. Many brands such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Mars rely on the substance. It is wound sap from acacia trees.
