Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC is a distance control system that can automatically maintain the preselected distance to vehicles in front on all road types. Active Steering Assist assists in following the lane. It can only be activated together with DISTRONIC. Active Lane Keeping Assist intervenes if the vehicle threatens to overrun lane markings and edges of the road. This helps drivers avoid unintentionally leaving their lane. Active Blind Spot Assist monitors areas with poor visibility and can help prevent accidents by warning drivers and intervening on the brakes. In addition, when the vehicle is stationary, the exit warning function warns of road users such as passing cyclists. Ambient lighting in the exit door signals danger and can help avoid a collision. Active Lane Change Assist provides cooperative support when changing to the adjacent lane. Lane changes to the left or right are only supported if, according to the sensor system, the adjacent lane is separated from the driver's own by an interrupted lane marking and no vehicles have been detected in the relevant safety zone. Active Emergency Stop Assist brakes the vehicle in its own lane to a standstill if it has detected that the driver is permanently no longer intervening in the driving situation. As standard, Active Brake Assist uses the sensors installed in the vehicle to register whether there is a risk of collision with vehicles ahead, crossing or oncoming. In the event of an imminent collision, the system can visually and acoustically prompt the driver to take action. If the driver applies the brake but does not press the pedal hard enough, the system can increase the braking torque to suit the situation. If the driver does not react at all, autonomous emergency braking can be initiated.
