Lamborghini set out on a very special tour of London with a Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2. It went from Abbey Road Studios to Savile Row and through the many famous streets in between. This trip helped shape the most successful and influential band in the world: the Beatles. Lamborghini pays tribute to them on the 60th anniversary of their debut single "Love Me Do," released on October 5, 1962. The Beatles recorded virtually their entire body of work at Abbey Road, including "Love Me Do." When they performed live on the roof of Apple Corps headquarters on Savile Row for the very last time on January 30, 1969, a Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2 in "Rosso Alfa" red with black interior was parked on the street below. This car can also be seen in the award-winning Beatles documentary "Get Back" by director Peter Jackson. All four members of the band were car lovers, but Paul McCartney especially succumbed to the allure of the Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2. Numerous sources indicate that McCartney owned one in 1968, although there is no official documentation to prove it. At that time, the Beatles recorded their "White Album", which includes the unforgettable song "Let It Be", with which they ended their career.
