The MINI Concept Aceman - Interior - MINImalism redefined

The interior of the MINI Concept Aceman is also dominated by a reduced design with clear forms and carefully executed details. It combines innovative technology with newly interpreted typical MINI design features. The cockpit of the concept car shows a consistent reduction to the essentials, as the designer of the classic Mini presented in 1959 already had in mind. Alec Issigonis designed an interior in which, in addition to the seats, steering wheel and gearshift lever, only a central round instrument and toggle switch bar sufficed to provide incomparable driving pleasure. "In the interior of the MINI Concept Aceman, we focus on a reduced appearance in combination with high-quality materials and friendly colors. Digitization allows us to get by with few controls while maximizing the experience in a way that is typical of MINI," explains Oliver Heilmer. "The entire design is entirely focused on providing occupants with a holistic interior experience." Wide-open and gently curved surfaces in the area of the door panels and dashboard promote the generous feeling of space. Adding to the light-filled ambience is the MINI Concept Aceman's large panoramic glass roof. Its glass surface is divided by the transverse and diagonal struts of the roof rack, whose structure picks up on the Union Jack flag motif and thus also recalls the brand's origins when looking up at the sky from the interior.
