Familiar date, new surroundings: After a forced break of two years, the Classic Days will celebrate their long-awaited comeback on the upcoming weekend (August 5 to 7). While the first weekend in August remains unchanged as the traditional event period, the popular classic event is taking place at a new location for the first time. While the first 14 editions were still held at Schloss Dyck, located around 30 kilometers southwest of Düsseldorf, this year the Classic Days are moving directly to the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital. ŠKODA AUTO Deutschland will be taking part in this happening with the circuit and rally versions of the 130 RS as well as the ŠKODA POPULAR ROADSTER from 1937. The ŠKODA AUTO Deutschland team will take part in the demonstration drives over the specially created course several times throughout the weekend with the two ŠKODA 130 RS. The rally version will be driven by none other than brand ambassador and seven-time German rally champion Matthias Kahle, who hopes to thrill the spectators with one or two spirited drifts. The ŠKODA 130 RS is undoubtedly one of the most successful motorsport vehicles in the company's history. The success statistics of the rear-wheel drive car, also known as the 'Porsche of the East', include a double victory in the 1977 Monte Carlo Rally in Group 2 up to 1.3 liters. In the circuit version, the coupé won the 1981 European Touring Car Championship for ŠKODA.
