A variety of flowers and colors in the changing seasons, foliage, light and shadow, full and empty rooms, scents in the air - all of this is the magnificent roof garden "La Pista 500", which was created where the cars built in the Lingotto plant were once tested. The garden is a great contribution to nature in the city, an example of green architecture in a building that is symbolic of Turin and its history. “La Pista 500” is open to all citizens to relax from the big city. With the “La Pista 500” project, however, a new path in industrial archeology is being embarked upon. It represents an example of a culture close to nature and incorporates the latest ecological values: from ecology to energy saving to social components. The project by the architect Benedetto Camerana, who was supported in botanical terms by Cristiana Ruspa, a specialist from Giardino Segreto, extends over the entire 1.2 km long ring of the former test track. The project is not satisfied with the creation of a large garden at a height of 28 meters. Rather, the history of the place is preserved and processed: The test track of yore is being revived, exclusively for electric vehicles, bicycles and scooters. This is unique
