Burglary Protection Day: Find out how to protect your home intelligently

On October 29, the clocks will be set back one hour this year with the end of Central European Summer Time. Since 2012, the motto of this "Burglary Protection Day" has been "One hour more for more security". In Germany, there were nearly 66,000 residential burglaries in 2022 and an additional nearly 80,000 thefts from basements and laundry rooms, according to the criminal police. Only slightly more than 16 percent of these burglaries were solved, giving burglars a sense of security.
