Singer and professor Gabriele Lechner has died at the age of 61, it was announced from her circle of friends on social networks on Monday. Lechner was once an ensemble member of the Vienna State Opera, the Graz Opera and the Zurich Opera House. The soprano had her international breakthrough in 1986 as a stand-in in "Un ballo in maschera" alongside Luciano Pavarotti.
