Fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology is also used in the plug-in hybrid models of the new BMW X1. This results in significant advances over the previous generation in terms of sportiness, efficiency and charging performance. The electric range has also been significantly increased. At the sales launch of the new BMW X1, the portfolio of conventional combustion engines includes two gasoline and two diesel powertrains from the BMW Group's new modular generation of Efficient Dynamics engines. The efficiency and power delivery of the two most powerful drive units are optimized with the help of second-generation 48-volt mild hybrid technology, whose electric motor is integrated into the 7-speed Steptronic transmission. This gives the four-cylinder BMW X1 xDrive23i model an output of 160 kW/218 hp. Also on offer: the new BMW X1 sDrive18i, powered by a 100 kW/136 hp three-cylinder engine. A four-cylinder diesel engine and mild hybrid technology provide a maximum output of 155 kW/211 hp in the new BMW X1 xDrive23d. The four-cylinder diesel engine in the new BMW X1 sDrive18d produces 110 kW/150 hp.
