The new Volvo EX30 - Chassis

источник: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)

The Volvo EX30 offers confidence-inspiring driving characteristics that are easy to control at all times. At the front axle, Volvo relies on a space-saving classic McPherson wheel suspension. The rear axle is a newly developed five-link design that ensures excellent handling and NVH characteristics. The high-voltage battery also plays an important role in driving behavior. It is positioned low and centrally in the vehicle structure, ensuring a low center of gravity and thus contributing to driving stability and dynamics. In the single-motor versions, the compact SUV model has rear-wheel drive. The associated separation between steered and driven wheels avoids drive influences in the steering - for example during heavy acceleration - ensures sharper steering in bends and enables more dynamic and direct driving overall with less understeer. The Volvo EX30 Twin Motor Performance AWD also benefits from its special drive layout with one electric motor on the front axle and one on the rear axle, which provides powerful all-wheel drive when required. The drive system proves its efficiency particularly on slippery surfaces such as wet meadows.
