The new Skoda Superb - refined design and improved aerodynamics

источник: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)

Škoda Auto has significantly improved the aerodynamics of the saloon and the Superb Combi. In addition to the more inclined windscreen, Škoda has tightened the roofline and optimized the roof spoiler - the latter is supplemented by side fins on the estate. Numerous details have also been revised. This includes, for example, redesigned exterior mirrors, A-pillars with rain deflectors and a front bumper with air curtains as well as aerodynamically optimized wheels and rims. The result: the aerodynamics of the saloon have improved by ten percent compared to its predecessor (drag coefficient of 0.23), while those of the estate have been reduced by 15 percent (drag coefficient of 0.25). This has a positive effect on fuel consumption and emissions. An electrically controlled flap behind the central air intake controls the air flow to cool the engine as required. There is also a new cooling system for the front brakes, which uses the airflow from the radiator fan. Optimized deflectors in front of the front wheels and a revised underbody improve the airflow under the vehicle.
