Germany's Adelheid Morath and Bettina Janas also prevail on the 3rd stage of the Swiss Epic

A day peppered with single trails below the tree line. Starting with the trail from Falera to Ladir. The route then continues to lower elevations, past the Dominican Convent of Ilanz and downstream along the Rhine in search of an easy crossing of the Rhine Gorge. Passing sights such as Lake Cauma and the villages of Fidaz and Alp Foppa, the route climbs again. The climb to Startgels is mercifully gentle. Unfortunately, there is no time for a five-course meal at the Ustria Startgels before turning off onto the Runca Trail. The last 10 kilometers are mostly downhill. More than half of it is on the Runca Trail, one of the longest flow trails in Europe, which has also been designated as a single trail by the "International Mountain Bicycling Association". The two leading teams of the UCI Men & Women categories were again not to be beaten today. So the Wilier Pirelli Factory Team around the reigning European Marathon Champion Fabian Rabensteiner (ITA) and the current Austrian Champion Daniel Geismayr could also secure the 3rd stage and prove their strong form. Local hero Andrin Beeli (SUI) could celebrate an excellent 3rd place together with his partner Frans Claes (BEL). In the women's race the Davos Klosters Women Team around the two Germans Adelheid Morath and Bettina Janas prevailed again. On today's stage, however, they had very long resistance from the Swiss-Italian duo around Janina Wüst (SUI) and Deborah Piana (ITA), who then secured second place again in the end.
