Testing of the new Porsche Cayenne - on the home stretch

Porsche is meticulously preparing the new Cayenne for its premiere. Until then, the prototypes and pre-production vehicles are subjected to demanding endurance tests in order to meet Porsche's high quality standards. Following its market launch in 2017, Porsche has systematically enhanced the third generation of the Cayenne with far-reaching measures to the powertrain, chassis, design, equipment, and connectivity. "It is one of the most extensive product upgrades in Porsche's history," says series manager Michael Schätzle. In addition to realigning the drive portfolio, engineers at the Porsche Development Center in Weissach dug deep into the Cayenne's chassis technology. The goal was to achieve an even wider range between typical Porsche on-road performance, long-distance comfort, and off-road capability. To this end, the Cayenne will feature a new, semi-active chassis, among other things. In addition, drivers and passengers will enjoy a new and extensively digitized display and operating concept with expanded Connect functions. Innovative lighting technology in the HD matrix LED main headlights enhances both comfort and safety in the new Porsche Cayenne.
