Running ace Konstanze Klosterhalfen was the first German to win European Championship gold over 5000 m in Munich. The 25-year-old prevailed in the Olympic Stadium after a strong performance ahead of 10,000 m European champion Yasemin Can of Turkey and Eilish McColgan of Great Britain. It was the start of a successful German evening.
