Weinheim: On Monday evening shortly after 8 p.m., the Weinheim fire department received a report of a roof truss fire in the street Zum Hainbusch in Weinheim, OT Oberflockenbach. When the first emergency services arrived, the roof truss of the building, which also houses the KSV club restaurant, was already in flames. The fire was finally extinguished by the Weinheim fire department at around 9.15 pm. The extinguishing work lasted until midnight. Part of the roof truss burned out completely. It was not an easy job for the firefighters, as they not only had to fight the fire, but also the icy cold. At minus 7 degrees, some of the extinguishing water froze on the helmets and around the vehicles. For this reason, the municipal building depot also arrived and brought road salt to the scene. According to initial investigations, the fire broke out in an apartment above the club restaurant. The cause of the fire is still unclear. Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire. Initial estimates put the damage to property at around 100,000 euros. Oberflockenbacher Straße had to be fully closed during the extinguishing measures.
