Flood situation in Lilienthal near Bremen remains tense

The persistent flooding continues to have large parts of Lower Saxony firmly in its grip. The situation came to a head on Wednesday night in Lilienthal near Bremen. A softened dyke could no longer withstand the masses of water from the Wörpe and had sprung a leak. Around 300 residents had to leave their houses and apartments. The situation on the ground is still tense.
