High energy costs and war in Ukraine have triggered a solar boom in Germany. For the online solar provider zolar alone, demand has tripled within a year. More and more people want to generate their own green and at the same time inexpensive electricity and thus protect themselves against rising energy costs and support independence from fossil fuels such as coal and gas But the sharp rise in interest in photovoltaics, meets already full order books in the trade. Germany lacks the skilled workers needed to accelerate the expansion of renewable energies. This leads to longer waiting times for consumers and major challenges for installers To solve this problem, the solar online provider zolar is creating additional installation capacity in the trades through digitization. With the help of a digital platform, the company relieves its more than 500 craftsman partner companies of bureaucratic tasks that arise around the planning and installation of a solar system. This allows the tradesmen to focus on what they do best: installing turnkey PV systems. In this way, the start-up and the skilled trades work hand in hand to bring the energy turnaround to Germany's rooftops. To train new skilled workers for the energy transition, the company is launching its own training offensive this year.
