At Crap Sogn Gion at 2,252 m above sea level, around 300 riders from all over the world competed in the FIS World Cup from January 16 to 21, 2024 in front of the impressive 360° mountain panorama. Europe's most prestigious snowboard contest opened its doors to freeskiers for the second time since 2022/2023. US-American Julia Marino (2020 winner) and Canadian Liam Brearley took the LAAX OPEN titles in slopestyle, while Australian Scotty James and last year's winner Mitsuki Ono from Japan were the 2024 halfpipe champions. In freeski slopestyle, current Olympic champion Birk Ruud (NOR) took off on the final feature and claimed victory. Local hero Mathilde Gremaud, current world champion and Olympic champion in slopestyle, wins the women's freeski competition.
