The death of 22-year-old Kurdish woman Jina Mahsa Amini, who was arrested and abused by the Iranian morality police because of her loose-fitting headscarf and died three days later as a result, was not the only case of crimes against women in Iran. This book sheds light on the deeply distressing individual fates of eight women who are representative of over 40 million Iranian women. Presented by: Iranian-born Jasmin Taylor and her family suffered horrors under the Mullah regime and during the brutal Iran-Iraq war, like millions of other people in Iran. In her youth, she fled to Germany during the First Gulf War. She worked as a consultant, founder and entrepreneur in the tourism industry. In 2014, she initiated the Strong Independent Sisters project, in which she supported refugee women in learning the German language, acquiring qualifications and finding an apprenticeship or employment. The project was awarded the Hatun Sürücü Prize by Bündnis 90/Die Grünen.
