The new BMW X5 M Competition and the new BMW X6 M Competition - New 8-speed M Steptronc transmission with Drivelogic, newly applied M xDrive, Active M Differential

The engine transmits its drive torque to a new version of the 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic, which offers a choice of three shift programs in both automated and manual modes. The innovations include modified transmission tuning and increased shift dynamics. Also contributing to the characteristic performance experience in the new BMW X5 M Competition and the new BMW X6 M Competition is the newly applied version of the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system, which is combined with the Active M Differential in the rear-axle transmission. In addition to the basic 4WD setting, the driver can use the M Setup menu to select the 4WD Sport mode, which enables controlled drifts thanks to a particularly rear-wheel-emphasized distribution of drive torque.
