1,600 Newton meters of torque. 1,600 hp power. 440 km/h top speed. The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport1 is the most powerful and fastest production hypercar in the world. As of summer 2019, it holds the speed record for production cars at 304.773 mph (490.484 km/h). A solitaire in automotive history and a technological masterpiece. For constant further development and optimization, Bugatti also regularly checks its production vehicles under extreme loads. A particularly powerful four-wheel apex roller test rig now serves as technical support for checking performance and top speed. On this, each wheel runs on a large roller instead of between two small rollers. Advantage: As on the road, the wheel has only one point of contact, so the rolling behavior is similar to that on the road. Slip, flexing and power loss are reduced compared with a two-roller dynamometer. As a result, the tires heat up less, which in turn allows higher speeds. Up to over 400 km/h are possible - a speed range that the Chiron Super Sport achieves effortlessly. An extreme range: Even at 420 km/h, the tire spins more than 50 times per second. This produces forces on the tread that correspond to around 4,000 times the acceleration due to gravity (g 9.81 m/s2). This increases the weight of the valve from 18.3 grams to around 55 kilograms at full throttle.
