The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class - Intelligently designed body and advanced restraint systems

Źródło:: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)

The safety concept of the E-Class is based on an intelligently designed body with a particularly rigid passenger cell and selectively deformable crash structures. The restraint systems, e.g. seat belts and airbags, are specifically adapted to this. In the event of an accident, they can be activated in such a way that their protective effect for the occupants is adapted to the situation. With the aid of numerous numerical simulations, the safety experts at Mercedes-Benz have designed the vehicle structure for a high level of occupant protection. In this way, they have not only taken the legal requirements into account in the accident-relevant vehicle design. In addition, internal requirements and test criteria derived from real accidents were also taken into account.
