From Ukraine, Syria or Turkey - many people are seeking refuge in Bavaria. In 2022 alone, over 444,000 people moved to Bavaria from abroad, over 60 percent of whom came from Ukraine. In many places, local authorities are reaching their limits - in November, the district administrator of Erlangen-Höchstadt, Alexander Tritthart, sounded the alarm. We asked what the situation was like at the beginning of the year.
