Ukraine replaces Defense Minister Resnikov

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selenskyy dismisses his Defense Minister Olexiy Resnikov and, in the midst of the counteroffensive, now wants to see young politician Rustem Umerov in the post. He will propose the 41-year-old head of the State Property Fund to parliament as the successor to the sacked Resnikov, Selenskyj announced in his evening video message on Sunday. Resnikov's departure had been expected for some time.
