People are taking to the streets against right-wing extremism all over Germany these days, including in the north: On Friday in Kiel, at the weekend on Sylt, in Lübeck, Flensburg, Pinneberg and Henstedt-Ulzburg, with more regions and cities to follow next week. However, the largest demonstration took place on Friday afternoon on Hamburg's Jungfernstieg. A broad alliance from the worlds of business, politics, culture and churches had called for the event, with many celebrities in attendance. Around 50,000 people came to the city center to send a clear signal against the right. SAT.1 REGIONAL reporter Janik Jungk was there and witnessed the situation in Hamburg's city center live. The demonstration was also co-initiated by the churches, including the Nordkirche. SAT.1 REGIONAL spoke to Bishop Kirsten Fehrs about the demonstration.
