Fully Electric BMW i5 Touring Available in Two Variants from the Start

The new BMW i5 Touring is the first fully electric premium model in its competitive environment. It will be offered in two variants from the beginning. The BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring features two highly integrated drive units on the front and rear axles together forming an electric all-wheel drive with up to 442 kW/601 hp. The system torque reaches up to 820 Nm when activating the M Launch Control or M Sport Boost function. This top model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 230 km/h. The rear-axle E-machine of the BMW i5 eDrive40 Touring generates a maximum output of 250 kW/340 hp and a maximum torque of up to 430 Nm with Sport Boost or Launch Control function. The BMW i5 eDrive40 Touring accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. Both models are equipped with a usable energy content of 81.2 kWh in the underbody high-voltage battery. In addition to the efficient E-machines, adaptive recuperation and heat pump technology for interior, drive, and high-voltage battery heating and cooling contribute to the long-distance capability of the BMW i5 Touring. The WLTP test procedure determined a range of 445 to 506 kilometers for the BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring and 483 to 560 kilometers for the BMW i5 eDrive40 Touring.
