For the first time in the almost 60-year history of the famous "pony car," Ford is sending the Mustang to a place where the roads know no asphalt at best: a rally track. The Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally celebrates its world premiere today at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The new model variant of the purely electrically powered sports utility vehicle is to be launched on the market in Europe and the USA. The Ford Puma Hybrid Rally1, with which M-Sport Ford competes in the World Rally Championship, served as inspiration. The Mustang Mach-E Rally proves directly on site what performance it is capable of: In the hands of former World Rally Champion Ott Tänak, it hurries up the hillclimb course in the Lord of March Park in front of thousands of automobile and motorsport enthusiasts.
