The new BMW M2 - Compact dimensions, extremely powerful proportions

The expressive appearance of the new BMW M2, which at first glance inspires sporty driving pleasure, is primarily the result of its extremely powerful proportions. The compact dimensions of the two-door car make them particularly clear. With an exterior length of 4 580 millimeters, a width of 1887 millimeters and a height of 1 403 millimeters, it has dynamic coupe proportions. The dimensions of the predecessor model are exceeded by 119 millimeters in length and 33 millimeters in width, while the vehicle height is 7 millimeters lower. At the same time, the new BMW M2 is 214 millimeters shorter than the models in the BMW M4 Coupé series. The wheelbase of 2,747 millimeters in particular contributes to the playfully agile character of the new BMW M2. This dimension is 110 millimeters shorter than that of the BMW M4 Coupé. Compared with the predecessor model, there is an increase of 54 millimeters, which benefits legroom in both rows of seats. The track widths increase by 38 to 1,617 millimeters at the front and by four to 1605 millimeters at the rear. They thus correspond exactly to the values of the BMW M4 Coupé. The comparison with the BMW 2 Series Coupé is all the more striking: The width of the high-performance model has increased by 49 millimeters, while its track widths are 44 millimeters wider at the front and 18 millimeters wider at the rear.
