The Audi activesphere concept - Functional and reduced - the interior

Source: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)

An image of extreme clarity and tidiness - this is the impression that greets the passenger who approaches the interior of the Audi activesphere through the wide-open doors. Vertical and horizontal surfaces dominate the architecture of the space, as do right angles. Horizontally, the zones of the interior are set off against each other in color. In the center: seating surfaces and the trim of the doors and front area in warm lava red, also contrasting purposefully with the dark exterior when viewed through the side windows. Above and below this central zone, dark colors also dominate - black, anthracite and dark gray. The four individual seats themselves are suspended like cantilevers in the continuous high center console. The upper end of the inner side section of the seat shell is shaped horizontally as an armrest and rests on the center console. The designers have designed the seat, back and shoulder sections as three separate circumferential shells, which already visually promise good lateral support. At the same time, they appear floatingly light and maintain the balance between automotive function and the elegance of a lounge chair. When the Audi activesphere concept is driven in automated mode, the dashboard support and steering wheel as well as the pedals are invisibly recessed. Particularly in the first row of seats, a wide space opens up in front of the driver that extends to the front end of the activesphere - and beyond. Free in view: the fully glazed single frame, through which passengers have an unobstructed view of the road ahead.
