The eEconic, which was also on display at this year's IAA Transportation, is based on the eActros and already celebrated its trade fair premiere at IFAT 2022 in Munich at the end of May before going into series production at the Wörth site in July. The eEconic is designed to cover the vast majority of typical Econic waste collection routes in single-shift operation without intermediate charging. The electric driveline enables a flat cab floor, which in turn makes it easier to climb through the cab - a particular advantage, especially if the driver wants to exit on the side facing away from traffic via the folding door on the passenger side. The modern and intuitive multimedia cockpit also represents a significant upgrade over the conventional Econic. Another equipment highlight is the panoramic glazing. In addition, the coated and heated Thermocontrol windshield prevents the windshield from fogging up due to weather conditions and thus increases the clear view of the traffic area. In addition, the windshield reduces heating of the interior due to solar radiation. A major safety plus in city traffic: the eEconic comes as standard with the S1R turn-off assist system and the fifth-generation Active Brake Assist emergency braking system with pedestrian detection.
