ŠKODA AUTO is expanding the POWERPASS charging options for the ENYAQ iV family with the so-called 'Plug & Charge' function: For vehicles with current ME3 software, the charging process can now be conveniently started at suitable charging points simply by connecting the charging cable. The vehicle is automatically identified at the charging point. Plug & Charge' now supports all newly manufactured ENYAQ iV models. All upcoming ŠKODA models based on the Modular Electrification Toolkit (MEB) from the Volkswagen Group will also support this option in the future. With 'Plug & Charge', vehicles from the ENYAQ iV family can be charged even more conveniently in the future. With immediate effect, all new ENYAQ iV models will roll off the production line with software that supports 'Plug & Charge'. This function will be installed over the air on vehicles that have already been delivered, provided that the ME3 software update has been installed. At suitable charging stations stored in the POWERPASS app, the vehicle identifies itself and the charging process starts automatically. The process complies with the high ISO 15118 security standard. Among others, the fast-charging stations of the Europe-wide IONITY network, in whose continuous expansion the Volkswagen Group is participating, also support the 'Plug & Charge' feature. Other partners will follow.
