The new Lexus RZ 450e - safety and assistance systems

"The RZ offers the advanced third generation active safety and driver assistance systems of the Lexus Safety System +, which, thanks to improved and additional functions, detect even more potential dangers. Introduced for the first time with the new RZ is the proactive driving assistant with steering assistance and a new monitor that checks driving behavior for signs of drowsiness or distraction. The proactive driving assistant uses the front camera to determine the angle of bends and adjusts the steering accordingly when starting and turning. The RZ is equipped with Lexus' E-Latch system - a smooth, electro-mechanical door release that is operated at the touch of a button. The system is linked to Blind Spot Assist. If this detects a cyclist or other road user approaching from behind, unlocking of the doors is prevented. The system can help prevent 95 percent of accidents caused by opening vehicle doors. A digital rearview mirror is also available, giving the driver a clear field of vision unobstructed by headrests or luggage. The system also offers excellent visibility at night or in poor weather conditions."
