Honda Civic - efficiency and dynamics at a new level

The new Honda Civic combines an exhilarating driving experience with high efficiency. Honda has ensured that the new e:HEV hybrid powertrain and steering and suspension tuning deliver the level of performance, dynamics and feedback that have always been the Civic's appeal. The eleventh-generation Civic is the latest Honda model to feature an electrified powertrain, following the CR-V, Honda e, Jazz, Jazz Crosstar and HR-V. It completes the electrification of the European volume model range. The new Civic features the most advanced version of the e:HEV self-charging hybrid technology. This combines a lithium-ion battery and two compact, powerful electric motors with a newly developed 2.0-liter Atkinson gasoline engine that achieves an outstanding 41 percent efficiency. The new engine features direct injection, which has been optimized for faster, more efficient combustion and higher torque. In addition, other technologies such as an active low-temperature catalyst and a modified intake manifold design contribute to improved fuel economy and performance.
