Electrified, comfortable, safe: the Subaru Forester rolls onto the road - and into adventure - improved all around. Dressed in a sharpened design, the SUV classic based on the Subaru Global Platform drives forward with the enhanced Eyesight system. The brand's signature stereo camera, which has been certified as highly reliable and precise in independent tests, is now located directly at the top of the windshield. The result is a larger field of vision and working area that enables new and improved functions. The emergency braking system, for example, now detects potential hazards even earlier and can warn accordingly - even at intersections. Roadside detection that notices grass hubs and other lane boundaries, an evasion assistant with steering assistance and adaptive distance and speed control including lane centering are now also part of the standard equipment. A 12.3 kW/16.7 hp electric motor supports the optimized boxer gasoline engine, which develops 110 kW/150 hp and 194 Nm of torque from two liters of displacement. While the electric motor has been integrated into the housing of the continuously variable linear transmission to save space, the other hybrid components are located under the trunk floor. This arrangement preserves the typical symmetry of the Subaru powertrain.
