The Genesis G80 - Turbocharged engines deliver commanding performance

The Genesis G80 has been designed and engineered to make a powerful statement both visually and behind the wheel. To deliver on that promise, there are two turbocharged engines - a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline with 304 horsepower and a 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged diesel with 210 horsepower. The powerful 2.5-liter gasoline engine features a dual injection system that combines the benefits of direct injection (GDI) and multi-point injection (MPI). GDI technology provides a cooling effect in the cylinder and optimized combustion efficiency, especially under cold and heavy-duty conditions. MPI has advantages when it comes to better conditioning of the air-fuel mixture in hot and low load conditions. By combining the two, the all-new G80 offers better fuel efficiency and performance, as well as reduced exhaust emissions. In addition, the 2.5-liter gasoline engine features an innovative split-cooling system that controls coolant flow and temperature, with the cylinder head operating at lower temperatures than the engine block. This results in an efficiency advantage, as lower engine block temperatures would negatively impact the vehicle's fuel economy.
