SmartSense - life-saving safety equipment from Hyundai

Source: AutoMotoTV (Glomex)

Under the name SmartSense, Hyundai provides numerous driver assistance systems and safety functions in its vehicles that save lives in the event of an emergency. In addition to the up to seven airbags, the extended safety package of the new TUCSON also includes a motorway assistant (HDA), the blind spot assistant with monitor display (BVM), the active blind spot assistant (BCA) and the autonomous emergency brake assistant (FCA). The motorway assistant helps the driver to regulate the speed, keep the distance to the vehicle in front and stay in the lane. The blind spot assistant with monitor display shows the view next to the vehicle to the rear in the instrument cluster when the driver operates the indicator. The active blind spot assistant monitors the area diagonally behind the TUCSON and warns the driver if he is overlooking another vehicle. If the driver does not react, he keeps the TUCSON in its lane with targeted braking intervention. The autonomous emergency brake assistant brakes independently to avoid collisions with cars, pedestrians and cyclists. In addition, when turning left, it recognizes oncoming vehicles in the intersection area and brakes independently if necessary
