The third generation of the crossover bestseller Nissan Qashqai is now optionally available with a powerful all-wheel drive. A new intelligent 4x4 system is used, which scores with different driving modes and a significantly improved response time compared to the previous system. The all-wheel drive system is offered in conjunction with the 1.3-liter DIG-T turbo gasoline engine with 116 kW / 158 PS and Xtronic automatic transmission; prices start at 38,510 euros for the high-quality N-Connecta equipment variant. Instead of an electromechanical clutch, the new intelligent all-wheel drive has a direct clutch: If necessary, it ensures a significantly faster transmission of the drive torque to the rear axle. The time in which the system intervenes when a slip occurs has been reduced by a factor of five to around two tenths of a second. How the power is distributed between the front and rear axles is influenced by the driver by selecting the driving mode. A total of five modes can be controlled via a rotary knob on the center console: from standard with a balanced mix of comfort, performance and economy to eco for particularly efficient driving to the performance-oriented sport mode. There is also the Snow driving program for snow-covered and icy roads and Offroad for driving on muddy or stony field and forest paths
